NEW YORK, N.Y. – On Tuesday, November 6, middle and high school educators will attend W!se’s 16th National MoneyPOWER Conference for Financial Literacy in New York City. Hosted by Citi at its World Headquarters, the Conference will feature experts in finance and education, with a focus on strengthening teachers’ knowledge of personal finance and providing instructional strategies for effective financial education.

Attendees will hear from keynote speaker, Sarah Newcomb, a Senior Behavioral Scientist at Morningsta, as well as an award-winning author, who will speak about how research from psychology can be leveraged to improve financial behaviors. Among the other guest speakers will be Jordan Goodman, known as “America’s Money Answers Man.”

W!se will also honor its 2017-18 Blue Star Schools and Gold Star Teachers – teachers and schools from across the country who are recognized for their students’ exceptional achievement on W!se’s Financial Literacy Certification Test. This unique Test measures the financial literacy of students at high schools in 48 states.

Additional Conference highlights include:

  • Workshops on topics relating to personal finance
  • Sessions on innovative personal finance lesson activities and planning
  • A Resources Fair with exhibitors from the field of financial education
  • Complimentary consultations with financial planners and wills and estates attorneys
