New York, NY – Working in Support of Education (W!se) is pleased to announce it has received a generous new grant from Bread Financial. The grant will fund the 2026 Financial Literacy Video Contest and help expand the reach of W!se’s award-winning Financial Literacy Certification program to more schools across New York State.
The Financial Literacy Video contest invites students from across New York State to create short, engaging videos that promote critical financial knowledge among their peers. The initiative encourages creative expression while reinforcing practical money management skills.
For the first time, the grant will also support targeted expansion of W!se’s Financial Literacy Certification program to new high schools in New York State. The program, which culminates in a nationally recognized certification exam, equips students with essential personal finance knowledge to help them build strong financial futures.
“We are very grateful to Bread Financial for this very generous new investment,” said David Anderson, President and CEO, W!se. “Our financial literacy video contest, supported by the grant, provides a unique and exciting opportunity for students to showcase their social media skills while offering valuable personal finance advice to their peers and the wider community.”
To reach new schools, W!se will broaden its promotional efforts across the state. This includes attending education conferences, launching targeted digital campaigns, creating compelling outreach materials, traveling to large high schools, and advertising in key educational media.
Bread Financial’s investment in financial literacy reflects a strong commitment to preparing the next generation for long-term financial success. By supporting both student engagement through the video contest and strategic program expansion in New York, Bread Financial is helping W!se build a future where all young people have access to the tools and knowledge they need to thrive financially.
“At Bread Financial, we believe financial literacy is key to personal empowerment and community prosperity,” said Dana Beckman, Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer, Bread Financial. “Through support of W!se’s initiatives, we’re equipping young people with essential skills to confidently shape their financial futures and strengthen the communities we all share.”
